Who we are looking for
The Head of Investments, SSGA Europe Limited is a regulated role that has responsibility of overseeing portfolio management activity performed within the entity as well as portfolio management activity delegated to other SSGA entities, oversight of investment staff in Europe (Ireland and Poland) and serves as the first escalation point for investments on all matters that could have an adverse impact on State Street Global Advisors, its clients, and its relationships with regulators, and requires experience in investment decision making and risk-taking. The role reports directly to the Head of Strategy and Operations, Investments, with a matrix reporting line to the Head of EMEA, State Street Global Advisors, and located in Dublin, Ireland.
The role has two Central Bank of Ireland Pre-Approved Controlled Functions:
1. PCF-30 (Chief Investment Officer)
2. PCF-39D (Designated Person for Investment Management)
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for
As Head of Investments, SSGA Europe Limited you will
3. Oversee portfolio management and asset stewardship for portfolios contracted to and managed by SSGA Europe Limited, as well as assets delegated to other SSGA entities.
4. Oversee investment staff in Ireland and Poland
5. Take leadership for investments on matters that could have an adverse impact on clients and stakeholders
6. Engage with regulators and assume all relevant regulatory responsibilities and designations
7. Contribute to the strengthening of investment processes, research and control framework in the region

Education & Preferred Qualifications
12. Tertiary qualification and/or professional investment designation preferred
13. Minimum 10 years of investment experience
Additional requirements
14. Regular travel to Krakow required
15. Experience with governance and regulatory activity a plus
