INTERNAL & EXTERNAL COMPETITION Ref No: 2025/33 Grade V Patient Accounts Permanent & Full-Time (35 hours per week) Finance Department We are currently looking to hire a Grade V Officer to join our Finance team here in the Rotunda.The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of dedicated Finance professionals in a collaborative, collegial and learning environment.
Based in the city centre and on the grounds of the oldest continuously operating maternity hospital in the world, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across all professional disciplines and become part of the Rotunda family.
The post holder is a key resource and support to the Finance Department in managing the delivery and maintenance of the accounts receivable function, working closely with our Private and Semi-Private Clinics.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Receipting of cash/cards from all relevant departments in the hospital on a daily/weekly basis, lodging to banks and recording of same in line with Hospital Policy and Procedures.
Issuing payments as directed.
Managing Continual Medical Education (CME) payments.
Responsibility for receipting/recording payments made to the Hospital via Hospital bank accounts.
Reconciliation of petty cash.
Assisting Patient Accounts Staff with processing Private Medical Insurers (PMIs) claims and managing payments from patients and PMIs using IPMS and Claimsure software.
Handling Hospital, patient and Private Medical Insurer queries in an efficient, courteous and GDPR compliant manner.
To develop the role of the cash office as an integral part of the Finance Department to enable it to support function of the hospital.
Identify and implement best practice operational processes in order to optimise use of resources.
Provide ad hoc financial and operationalreports as required.
Liaising with internal and external auditors and ensuring that controls and checks are implemented to address any recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Working knowledge of Private Patient charges and pathways.
Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills including the ability to work as a team member.
The ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Qualities of integrity and diplomacy, with the ability to discuss sensitive matters with confidence with patients and staff.
Desirable: Experience in a similar role in the Health Sector.
Experience using IPMS and Claimsure Software.
Previous experience working in a similar role in the Health Sector And Have satisfactory experience in an office under the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 at a level not lower than that of Grade IV (or equivalent).
Or Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish1.
Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination.
Or Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction.
Or Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI).
* *Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers.
A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable.
Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational programme.
And, Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.
Skills, competencies and/or knowledge Excellent IT skills including MS Office and database systems.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Excellent time management skills.
