Job Title: Legal Secretary / Legal Executive (Maternity Cover) In House Legal Department Location: Dublin 4 offices Hybrid: After an initial period of time on-site for training, then 3 days WFH Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract Salary: €45,000 - €57,000 (dependent on experience) Hours: 9:15 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch) Application Deadline: 12 noon March 4th, 2025 About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary / Legal Executive to provide maternity cover for a key legal team within a highly regarded public service organisation.
This is a 12 month contract supporting a team of solicitors, with a strong focus on organisation, file management, and administrative support.
The role involves working closely with the Head of Department, who is highly experienced but busy, along with other team members who are largely self-sufficient.
This position is not heavily focused on legal drafting but requires a proactive, self-sufficient, and highly organised individual who can ensure files are efficiently managed and legal processes move smoothly.
Additionally, the role involves some elements of office management, requiring excellent communication and team coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities Overseeing file management, ensuring all records are up to date and organised.
Coordinating legal documents and assisting in administrative duties related to defamation, employment law, and company law.
Acting as the primary point of contact for team organisation and workflow management.
Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as required.
Managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and handling general legal administrative tasks.
Assisting with budget management and financial provisions related to legal cases.
Ensuring legal processes are followed efficiently and supporting the smooth running of the department.
About You Minimum 4 years experience in a similar Legal Secretary / Executive role.
Experience in litigation preferred; knowledge of employment law and company law advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate a busy team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and legal practice management systems (e.g., Practice Evolve is an advantage).
A diploma in legal studies would be beneficial but is not essential.
