Job description
The Assembly Operative is part of the team that assembles and prepares parts of steel structures and modular components for dispatch. The components are fabricated locally prior to assembly and require meticulous attention to detail to ensure seamless installation on site.
This role would be particularly suited to those with experience in either carpentry or assembly of steel components.
Health and Safety is a priority; therefore, in the role of Assembly Operative, you are required to adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safety instructions.
Main duties include:
* Measuring, squaring, bolting, banding, and assembling steel components.
* Ensuring all parts are clean and meet the high standards required.
* Gathering and moving materials as required.
* Preparation and loading of items for transport.
* Banding steel.
* Ad hoc tasks as required.
* Undertaking training as required for the role.
Minimum requirements of the Assembly Operative:
* Proven experience in fitting and assembly of components.
* Experience in carpentry, fabrication, or a manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience working with steel or metal components.
* Flexibility to move between projects.
* Basic IT skills.
The Assembly Operative role requires a minimum of 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A reasonable level of overtime and availability to work two-cycle shifts may be required to ensure the fulfillment of the requirements of this role.
Training will be provided by O’Carroll Engineering at its Head Office in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
