Purpose of Post
To provide end users with inventory and manage stock levels in line with best practice.
Essential Qualifications

1. Leaving certificate.

2. Diploma in Procurement and Supply chain or working towards a qualification.
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Pick P.P.E products for wards/units/departments as required.
2. Contract Management where applicable.
3. Manage all order picking for user departments.
4. Tendering process where applicable.
5. Develop, cultivate and maintain good commercial relationships with suppliers.
6. Negotiate with potential and existing suppliers.
7. Assist in organising supplier service level agreements.
8. Place orders for goods, services, capital equipment as required.
9. Carry out all clerical administrative duties appropriate to the position.
10. Review and check invoices for price/quantity discrepancies.
11. Liaise with the Procurement manager in relation to new suppliers.
12. Contact suppliers regarding products, pricing, and credit notes.
13. Liaise with end users on new product evaluations.
14. Create new product information on the Agresso system.
15. Run back orders reports and follow up with suppliers.
16. Ensure best practice is implemented and adhered to.
17. Provide information as required for submission to the Finance Department.
18. Assist in overall stocktaking as and when required.
19. Promote good industrial relations in employment practices.
20. Ensure good communications within the department.
General
Ensure that all statutory regulations are complied with in respect of the Purchasing and Procurement function. Handle 'walk-in' requisitions from end users. Ensure that expenditure is controlled within agreed limits.
Terms & Conditions of Employment
Tenure
The current vacancy available is on a part-time specified purpose basis. The post is pensionable.
Remuneration
Remuneration is in accordance with the salary scale approved by the Department of Health: Supplies Officer Grade C - Current salary scale with effect from 01st October 2024: €41,317 (point 1) to €53,304 (maximum point).
Working Week
The hours allocated to this post are 17.5 hours per week.
Annual Leave
26 days per annum pro-rata as per Health Service Executive (HSE).
Probation
All Employees Will Be Subject To a Probationary Period As Per The Probation Policy.
Pension
Employees of Peamount Healthcare are required to be members of the Hospitals Superannuation Scheme.
Maternity
Maternity leave is granted in accordance with the terms of the Maternity Protection Acts 1994 and 2001.
Sick Leave
Peamount Healthcare operates a Sickness Absence Management policy.
Pre-Employment Health Assessment
Prior to commencing in this role a person will be required to complete a form declaring their health status.
