The Senior Trading Financial Manager will lead and manage the team of Trading Financial Analysts.
The primary role of the Financial Analysts is to support, challenge and govern their category to achieve financial and operating targets.
This will include the provision of timely Management Information for use within the Categories and the wider Musgrave Business.
The Senior Financial Analyst will bring to life the wider 'Maximising our Core' Finance Strategy within the Trading Finance team.
A critical part of the role is leading the annual Budget and quarterly forecasts for Traded Margin and participating in review with Trading Director followed by a presentation to both the Managing Director for Retail and Director Finance for Retail, Wholesale and Foodservice.
** Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract Key responsibilities of the role will be to: Ensure appropriate Governance systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained.Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and analysis of Sales, Income and both Wholesale and Retail Margin performance for the categories.Lead the team to investigate & understand variances and add value by providing insight & commentary to the financial reports.Business Partner with Trading, Finance, and Group Commercial with ability to influence key commercial outcomes whilst operating on cross functional teams.Collaborate with Price Investment Analyst to ensure the annual Price Investment budget is managed and delivers the optimum return on Investment.Ensure assigned tasks to enable the reporting of margin each week.Lead the team to ensure they support category trading initiatives / trials, and business initiatives.Lead the team to ensure they support Income generating initiatives.Support on cross functional projects as required.Ad-hoc analysis as required.Proactively driving key change projects within the Trading Finance Team and the wider Business e.g.
Anaplan and Simplification.Education, Skills & Experience The successful candidate will possess the following:
A qualified accountant with a minimum of 7 years industry experience.
A general business qualification would be an advantage.The ideal candidate will be highly numeric & analytical with Strong Commercial acumen and the ability to focus on business objectives.A proven ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills and be able to work well as part of a team.A strong systems orientation including advanced Excel skills and Systems skills.The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making.Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
