AtkinsRéalis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.
We are seeking Designer's Site Inspectors Structures based in Cork. The candidate must have extensive experience in the execution and supervision of large civil engineering projects, including major highway schemes. The candidate must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, collaborative, willing to take on responsibility, and possess excellent communication skills. The roles will be part of the AtkinsRéalis site-based team and will involve building relationships with the construction contractor and the local authority employer and their representatives.
The Designer's Site Inspectors Structures will ensure the construction complies with the provisions of the Construction Requirements and the other applicable provisions of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordinate between the Contractor and the design team in matters related to construction and design issues and carry out the Designer's Site Inspectors duties in relation to all structure's elements, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, gantries etc.
2. Carry out duties of the Designer's Site Inspector including, but not limited to; supervising and witnessing construction operations; inspecting the works; raising and closing out Non-Conformance Reports.
3. Work with the contractor and employer to ensure the construction is completed in compliance with all applicable health and safety and environmental regulations, contract requirements and best practice.
Key Requirements:
1. Very extensive experience of supervising construction of major highway projects, including all structures elements, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, gantries etc. as Clerk of Works or Inspector for contractor or public sector clients.
2. Demonstrable experience of managing quality assurance on highways and other infrastructure projects.
3. Ability to communicate and engage with multiple stakeholders.
4. Experience in NEC or other collaborative forms of contract is preferred.
