Shaws Department Stores in Mullingar is expanding its management team and is currently looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Team Leader to join the team.
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work five days a week over a 7 day roster.
As a Team Leader in our store, you'll be at the heart of our operations, guiding and motivating a team of retail assistants to deliver exceptional service every day.
You'll play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers, ensuring smooth store operations and helping drive the overall success of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, inspire, and motivatea dynamic team of retail assistants to achieve and exceed store targets, fostering a positive and results-driven atmosphere.
Deliverexceptional customer serviceby ensuring your team is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, creating memorable experiences for every shopper.
Drive sales performanceby consistently monitoring progress and seizing every opportunity to boost sales and meet targets.
Develop and train your team, providing them with the product knowledge and skills needed to confidently upsell and enhance the customer experience.
Maintain high store standards, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness while ensuring products are well-organized and visually appealing.
Collaborate with theHead of Space Planning & Visual Merchandisingto implement creative merchandising strategies that maximize product visibility and drive sales.
Keep track of stock levels, participate in regular stocktakes, and ensure smooth inventory management.
Overseecash handling proceduresdaily, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and maintaining accuracy.
Coach and supportteam members on correct cash handling processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
Act as akey holder, responsible for opening and closing the store as required, ensuring security and operational readiness.
Ensure strictcompliance with company policies and proceduresacross all aspects of store operations.
Work closely with store management toimplement loss prevention strategies, training the team on anti-theft protocols and personal security measures.
Assist withrecruitment, training, and developmentof new team members, helping to build a strong and capable team.
Stay up to date withemployment legislationand ensure full compliance within the team.
Conductannual performance reviewsto set clear objectives, provide feedback, and support your team in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Candidate Criteria:
Minimum of 3 years' experiencein a supervisory or leadership role within a retail environment.
Strong understanding ofcustomer service excellenceand the ability to lead by example.
Proven ability tomanage and motivate a team, ensuring high performance and productivity.
Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skillswith the ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
Demonstrated problem-solving skillsand the ability to make quick, effective decisions.
Ability tomanage stock levelsand ensure visual merchandising standards are met.
Flexibility and availabilityto work five days a week, including weekends and evenings.
Strong organizational skills with the ability toprioritize tasksin a fast-paced environment.
Good knowledge of retail systemsand experience with cash handling and processing transactions.
