The Position
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our operation in Leinster.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for leading all aspects of engineering onsite within the Operations team.
The Engineering Manager will provide strategic guidance to continually optimise plant safety, performance, efficiency, yield, and reliability.
2. Establish key cross-functional relationships with Production, Quality, Environmental, and Capital project departments.
3. Build relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and equipment vendors to develop asset replacement & upgrade pipelines.
4. Develop a future technology strategy and execution plan, incorporating emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, big data, AR, cybersecurity, and additive manufacturing.
5. Develop and implement maintenance/engineering and capital spending plans.
6. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to provide leadership and coordination of major planned interventions.
7. Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving relating to downtime events, quality/yield issues, and speed using a structured problem-solving methodology.
8. Develop corrective action plans to mitigate the risk of unplanned downtime.
9. Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory requirements, and internal governance requirements.
10. Educate the Engineering and Maintenance teams on relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while delivering on key plant objectives.
11. Collaborate across functions to assist the company in achieving its Sustainability goals.
The Ideal Candidate
* Level 8 Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering) or other relevant Engineering discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy industry or wood processing plant is highly advantageous.
* A proven track record of managing maintenance and/or engineering projects through to completion.
* Competency regarding safety regulations for large-scale manufacturing sites.
* Knowledge of LEAN maintenance practices and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
