Digistore24 is one of Europe’s leading online retailers with rapidly expanding US operations and globally. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance & Risk Manager to join our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing our Fraud, Chargeback, and Product Approval teams in the US and Europe while ensuring company-wide compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management best practices. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, this role will play a critical part in safeguarding Digistore24’s operations, enhancing processes, and maintaining our commitment to compliance and risk mitigation.
Compliance Oversight
* Ensure the company adheres to all applicable regulatory requirements across its operational territories, including payment processing, advertising standards, product compliance, and data protection laws.
* Stay updated on new compliance requirements (FTC, FDA, GDPR, etc.) and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure full compliance.
* Develop and maintain internal compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials to minimize exposure and ensure the integrity of company operations.
* Work closely with Product Approval, Payments, Fraud, and Chargeback teams to ensure all processes align with company and regulatory standards.
* Ensure that compliance changes are effectively communicated and understood.
* Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks, including fraud, chargebacks, and non-compliant product listings.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for fraud and chargeback cases, ensuring the implementation of strategies to reduce incidents.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage operational risks and ensure processes are robust and secure.
* Directly manage the Fraud, Chargeback, and Product Approval teams, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance.
* Set clear objectives for each team, aligning their goals with company priorities and operational excellence.
* Drive team collaboration and improve cross-departmental processes to ensure timely and accurate risk and compliance management.
* Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Reporting and Collaboration
* Report on risk, compliance, and team performance to the Senior Operations Manager and other stakeholders.
* Work collaboratively with various teams (Legal, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, etc.) to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and risk management.
* Analyze and present data-driven insights to improve decision-making and operational strategies.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum 5+ years in compliance, risk management, or a related field. Prior experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or digital payment systems is preferred.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as FTC, FDA, GDPR, and payment processor standards.
* Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify and address potential risks and compliance gaps with a data-driven approach.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate complex compliance and risk-related concepts clearly.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with fraud detection tools (e.g., Kount), chargeback management software, and compliance software.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in overseeing compliance and risk-related tasks.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive and creative in identifying solutions to mitigate risks and enhance operational processes.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate and manage change in a dynamic, global environment.
