Health and Safety Officer - County Clare
This is a key role in the company, requiring someone with experience from a fast-paced multinational background.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation and industry best practices.
* Provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters to internal stakeholders and support consultation with safety committees and representatives.
* Promote a positive health and safety culture of excellence and inclusion within the organization.
* Coordinate and deliver health and safety training (company requirements, procedures, new legal requirements, inductions, etc.).
* Compile accident and investigation reports and data to support accident prevention and safety initiatives.
* Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of work areas, operations, and systems; monitor and support corrective and preventative actions.
* Support emergency plans, evacuation procedures, and drills.
* Provide health and safety reports and metrics to senior management and administer health and safety software systems.
Requirements and Skills:
* A third-level qualification in health and safety or a recognized safety qualification is required.
* At least 2-3 years of experience as a safety officer (experience in the manufacturing sector is an advantage but not mandatory).
* Experience in risk assessment and strong understanding of Irish and EU health and safety legal requirements.
* Competent auditor and training experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in delivering training.
* A self-starter with problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
