Mechanical Project Engineer
This is a rare opportunity to work on exciting new mine development in the northeast. The role involves contributing to capex and new equipment for a brand new facility with an existing company.
Role Objectives:
* The Mechanical Project Engineer reports to the Mine Maintenance supervisor, responsible for designing, procuring, installing, and leading maintenance of products and equipment to support site development and improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage projects to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in agreement with the mine manager.
2. Project manage all mine-related projects, developing scopes, budgets, and timelines with cross-functional teams.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
4. Confer with Mine maintenance and facilities supervisor, project teams, and maintenance department to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, provide technical information, and implement sustaining actions.
5. Lead and manage mechanical projects across mining and quarrying operations.
6. Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
7. Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
8. Research, design, evaluate, procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
9. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.
10. Ensure installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machines and ensure equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.
11. Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
12. Recommend design modifications having identified the real root cause to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
