Amazon's Information Technology organization is seeking a visionary Systems Engineering Manager to lead our Telephony services team within Amazon's Enterprise Engineering group.
Key job responsibilities Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It: - Lead a team of elite Systems Engineers in operating and optimizing global communication platforms - Architect and maintain robust, scalable telephony and video conferencing infrastructure - Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and continuous service improvement - Oversee system reliability, capacity planning, and infrastructure lifecycle management - Champion incident management and resolution processes across multiple technology stacks A day in the life Imagine starting your day reviewing system health metrics with your team, then leading an incident post-mortem to strengthen our service reliability.
By afternoon, you're collaborating with global stakeholders to optimize our communication infrastructure, and ending your day knowing you've enhanced how Amazonians connect and communicate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or operations - 5+ years of experience managing technical teams - Experience with large-scale telecommunications systems - Experience with VoIP, SIP, and unified communications platforms - Strong background in network engineering and infrastructure operations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in related technical field - AWS certifications and cloud infrastructure expertise - Track record of implementing ITIL practices and operational frameworks - Experience with automation tools and infrastructure as code (IaC) Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
