Townbe is a provider of Accommodation and Services for people applying for International Protection. We operate said contracted services with IPAS with oversight from IPAS and HIQA.
We are seeking part-time and full-time social workers, referred to as Reception Officers (RO’s) for our centers. Flexible P/T hours are available at various locations.
Job Title: Reception Officer / Social Worker
Role Purpose:
We are seeking energetic, flexible, innovative, and enthusiastic Reception Officers to join our center teams. The Reception Officer will provide quality evidence-based Social Work service, including assessment of needs, and a range of advisory, practical, and skilled emotional supports to our residents.
The successful candidate will provide Reception Officer support to residents and deliver social work services with oversight from Centre Management. The ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload and work in an interdisciplinary way using a person-centered approach are key requirements of the role.
This role will support residents’ mental and physical health needs as well as provide links to educational and integration into the center and locality.
Accountable to:
The Centre Manager with oversight by Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Centre Manager in ensuring that all residents have an initial assessment of needs as they come through reception.
* Develop a Person-Centred Needs Plan, which center staff can assist with, encouraging residents to engage in self-directed activities.
* Be part of the Management Structure within the Centre.
* Provide Reception Services in collaboration with internal management and external stakeholders.
* Participate in the planning process and liaise with community services and voluntary groups.
* Link individuals with appropriate services/resources and advocate on behalf of clients.
* Assist and advise residents through support, counselling, and mobilization of community resources.
* Carry out vulnerability assessments, develop case plans, and track coordination of support services.
* Work in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures.
* Complete training needs analysis and reflective practice to assure continuing competency for the role.
* Maintain accurate signed records of all RO supports and interventions and ensure statistical data on service provision is available as requested.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external agencies including HIQA, Gardaí, HSE, safeguarding and protections teams, and Tulsa.
The Person:
* A Full Driving License is essential.
* Ability to travel and support other locations 1-2 days per week is preferred.
* Registered in the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Board at CORU.
* Appropriate qualification (a QQI level 7 in social care or equivalent) and skills to identify and respond to residents with special reception needs.
* Must have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
* Demonstrate IT Skills relevant to the role, including writing professional emails, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
