The National Disability Authority (NDA) is an independent statutory body that provides evidence-informed advice and guidance to the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth on policy and practice relating to persons with disabilities.
The NDA promotes awareness and adoption of Universal Design, making it possible for everyone to access, understand and use products, services and information regardless of age, size, ability or disability.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise officials in DCEDIY and other Government Departments on disability policy and practice
* Assist in the development of statistical information for disability programmes and services
* Monitor the implementation of standards and codes for disability programmes and services
* Promote Universal Design through the Centre of Excellence in Universal Design
The NDA is seeking an Executive Officer to support its mission. This role will involve providing administrative assistance, conducting research and analysis, and contributing to the development of disability policy and practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working with people with disabilities and knowledge of Universal Design principles are highly desirable.
