Job Description
As a Specialized Senior Risk and Compliance Officer - Cyber Resilience/Operational Resilience, you will be part of our team responsible for the oversight of the operational risk function within the Bank Central, ensuring that the bank's operations are conducted in a manner that supports the interest of depositors and the wider economy.
Responsibilities:
* To work closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance, the Chief Operating Officer, and the Supervisory Authority to develop a strategy for the operational risk function to ensure effective supervision of all banks under Pillar 2 of the Capital Requirements Directive but in general;
* To take charge of implementing the strategy for the operational risk function to make sure that the bank is making sound judgments about its ability to absorb potential losses;
* To oversee the activities of teams during the process of conducting on-site inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure that they are properly equipped with necessary skills and knowledge;
* To take charge of specialized technical knowledge to be shared throughout the Bank Central in relation to the relevant risk area, in general, especially in relation to complex matters;
* To promote a culture of good working relations and cooperation among colleagues and senior management, and to ensure that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly;
Requirements:
* A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline;
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in banking regulation and/or supervisory risk management;
* Proven track record, inter alia, of working in risk management, high-level supervisory roles, or regulatory positions;
* In-depth knowledge of the operational risk function and business practices within the supervised institutions;
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and assess complex risks and opportunities;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively;
* Fluency in English and/or Irish;
* Familiarity with current EU and international regulations and standards related to banking supervision and financial stability;
* Ability to analyze data and prepare reports to support decision-making;
* Highly developed organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines;
* Experience of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong customer focus;
* Knowledge of risk management methodologies and tools, including risk assessment frameworks and threat and vulnerability management;
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, staff, and external partners;
* Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems;
* Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and interests;
* Highly developed leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire staff and influence others to achieve desired outcomes;
* Strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including staying up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in banking supervision and risk management;
