Head of Ancillary and Partners
Your role
The purpose of this role is to deliver ancillary revenue growth to Aer Lingus in the coming years. Ancillary revenue is key to Aer Lingus future profitability and is undergoing major change in the airline industry.This role will do this by leading our ancillary strategy, building out a product roadmap of both airline and non-airline partners (i.e. car parking, transfer). They will ensure products are customer centric and competitive. They will manage ancillary revenue and commission delivery growth to maturity. This role will be the key business owner of ancillary, reporting to Director of Airline Retailing, CCO and Aer Lingus Executive team, as well as IAG, leading Aer Lingus progression of ancillary revenue to maturity.This role will be responsible for revolutionising how Aer Lingus offers, sells and delivers ancillary and partner products. This role will do this by managing key stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams to deliver strategy, product, partner contracts and revenue. Principal Accountabilities:Define Aer Lingus Ancillary Strategy for next three years, working with wide stakeholder group to ensure we can deliver on the strategyManage the delivery of the strategy, working to the collective goal of ancillary and partner revenue delivery and customer centric offers, by building out roadmaps and managing major projectsUse influencing skills to garner support from across the organisation for the changesAnalyse customer trends and competitor benchmarking on regular basisIdentify industry trends and technological advancement that present opportunities for Aer LingusBring about major business process change in how Aer Lingus manages ancillaries and partnersIntroduce data driven decisions by productionising and dashboarding data working with internal data teamsIntroduce machine learning tools and AI to support forecastingImplement revenue management of ancillaries and partners – build a team of revenue analysts, manage this business change, manage revenue delivery through managing a team of ancillary revenue analysts, organising day to day activities and introducing checks and balances to reduce financial and audit risk.Onboard new ancillary partners by negotiating contractsOnboard new partners by building out roadmaps and working with Tech on delivery.
Your qualifications and key criteria
3rd level qualification in Business / Commerce or relevant work experienceStrong sense of ownership and accountability for portfolioStrong commercial focus with a clear understanding of Aer Lingus’ commercial and customer positionStrong understanding of the airline selling in a digital environment and the role ancillaries play in thisStrong analytical skills to introduce revenue management of ancillariesLead business case development to ensure project and commercial successAbility to lead cross functionality teams to deliver products and changeProven capability of drafting and presenting plans to senior stakeholdersStrong leadership and influencing, and ability to work with a cross functional team to deliver changeFluent in English, both written and spoken Essential competencies/skillsStrong commercial and strategic awarenessMotivated self-starter with strong organisational and project management skills, a problem solverA convincing and influential communicator.
