Injection Moulding Technician - County Waterford
This role involves providing technical support and leadership on production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in an efficient manner for new and existing moulding processes.
You will be responsible for overseeing the injection moulding process, including start-up, monitoring, and shutdown, to achieve production targets for quality products. This will involve taking ownership of process escalations and troubleshooting issues using a systematic approach to root cause problem solving.
Key responsibilities include ensuring tool set-up and changeover activities are optimized to meet production targets, supporting process engineers in developing new processes, and completing required documentation in the manufacturing area. You will also be expected to support continuous improvement projects using decoupled processes and lean tools to optimize injection moulding performance and improve reliability.
Additionally, you will be responsible for distributing personnel as per planning, updating visual area boards, and conducting shift handovers. You will work closely with quality personnel to rectify any issues promptly and comply with EHS and cGMP policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will hold a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, or equivalent, and have at least 5 years' experience in injection moulding. Experience of mould set-up and working with various plastics and mould types is essential. Specialist industry standard process technician training is desirable.
