Overview
Our client in the financial services sector is currently hiring a Mortgage Advisor to join their team in Cork. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual who is passionate about helping people achieve their homeownership dreams.
As a Mortgage Advisor, you will play a vital role in guiding customers through the mortgage journey—providing expert advice, supporting applications, and ensuring a smooth process from initial consultation to mortgage drawdown.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Consultation
o Meet with customers to understand their financial situation, goals, and preferences.
o Assess their eligibility for a mortgage by analysing their financial situation.
o Provide expert, needs-based advice.
2. Credit Assessment
o Gather necessary documents and prepare detailed credit reports.
o Submit reports to underwriters and maintain regular updates with customers.
o Liaise directly with underwriters for any clarifications.
o Refer customers to insurance partners for House Insurance (Allianz) and Mortgage Protection (Irish Life).
o Assist customers in obtaining a Letter of Offer once a property is identified.
o Support customers through the drawdown process post-contract.
3. Customer Relationship Building
o Foster strong, long-term relationships with customers throughout the mortgage journey.
o Develop a local referral network.
4. Compliance and Regulation
o Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements (Consumer Protection Code, Central Bank guidelines, and internal policies).
5. Additional Duties
o May be required to provide cash services or open accounts occasionally.
Qualifications & Skills
* Qualifications: QFA (Qualified Financial Advisor) is ideal; minimum requirement is APA in Loans and Savings & Investments.
* Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Mortgage Advisor role.
* Detail-Oriented: Strong accuracy in assessing financial documentation.
* Customer-Focused: Passionate about delivering exceptional service and building trust.
* Team Player: Works well within a collaborative environment.
* Mortgage Expertise: Brings pride and confidence in mortgage knowledge.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* Tech Savvy: Proficient in software tools relevant to mortgage processes.

Regulatory Note
This role is designated as a Controlled Function under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Appointment to the role is subject to the appointee meeting the Fitness and Probity standards set by the Central Bank. This includes completion of due diligence to assess the individual’s suitability.
