The Auto Electrification & Energy Business Unit at Analog Devices is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college graduate to join our BMS Design Evaluation team in our research & development site in Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will be involved in the validation and characterization of our Wireless System on Chip Battery Management ICs. This role provides an interesting and challenging opportunity for graduates to gain exposure to various technological areas, including RF, Digital, software development, and hardware design.
Responsibilities include:
1. Definition & Implementation of Measurement Methodologies along with Test Case & Measurement Plan Generation.
2. Development of both the hardware and software elements that constitute the Evaluation platform, including:
a. PCB Design & Circuit Design.
b. Embedded Software Development.
c. Software for Measurement Control (Python).
d. Instrument Driver Development.
4. Execution to schedule of the measurement plan with the developed platform.
5. Analyze captured data and present findings/results to the wider team.
In addition, the engineer will work closely with the design team in silicon debug, provide inputs on aspects of new product development, and provide support as required on new product verification using FPGA platforms and other tools. It is also envisaged that the engineer will provide support to Applications & Product Test Engineering teams in resolving silicon and customer issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements:
1. The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Electronic Engineering with a firm grounding in both the fundamentals of analog & digital theory along with a good grasp of the programming structures utilized in software development.
2. Be self-motivated, with good communication skills and comfortable working in a team.
3. Have an interest in RF & Radio and a desire to broaden their knowledge & insight in this field.
4. Have strong Problem-Solving Skills and be capable of working on their own initiative.
5. Some experience & proficiency in the use of measurement equipment along with some basic knowledge of debug & fault-finding techniques would be desirable.
6. Familiarization with the use of software in measurement control & test instrumentation management (Python or LabVIEW).
7. Some exposure to Data Analysis & report generation in tools such as Jupyter Notebooks would be an advantage.
