We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom plugins for a range of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, Neovim, and others. You will collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, user-friendly plugins that enhance the development process.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain custom plugins for Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, Neovim, and other IDEs.
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
* Conduct thorough testing and debugging of plugins to ensure high performance and reliability.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in IDE development and plugin ecosystems.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plugin-related issues.
* Document development processes, code changes, and provide user guides for the plugins.
* Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams at HQ to escalate critical customer issues from EMEA timezone, provide feedback on new features, and contribute to platform improvements.
* Act as a technical liaison between customers and HQ to resolve complex issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
* 3+ years of IT-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) OR 5+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
* 3+ years of any combination of academic or work experience with Full-stack Application Development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
* 1+ year of any combination of academic or work experience with Data Structures, algorithms, and data stores.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in developing plugins for Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, JetBrains, Neovim, Eclipse or other IDEs.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#.
* Strong understanding of IDE architectures and plugin development frameworks.
* Experience with version control systems like Git.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
* Contributions to open-source projects related to IDE plugins.
* Knowledge of additional programming languages and frameworks (e.g. Lua, Kotlin).
