We are seeking to hire a Building Maintenance Operator to join our team.
Person Specification: Essential
•Skilled or semi-skilled in maintenance – electrical, plumbing, carpentry or painting etc
•Proven ability to communicate information to staff, students and the public in an effective and professional manner
•Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication skills
•Fluency in English (oral and written)
•Ability to multitask
•Problem-solving skills
•Ability to work independently and manage own workload
•Flexible approach to work
•Full Driving Licence
•Previous experience of working in an educational institution (second or third level) would be beneficial but not essential
The Building Maintenance Operator has responsibility for managing the day-to-day running of the Groups maintenance.
•Skilled or semi-skilled in maintenance
•Liaise with the management teams on all maintenance requirements, tracking all tasks and
report on outcomes
•Manage all facility related issues such as plumbing, electrical outages, etc.
•Coordinate required works with the management teams and manage communication with
external contractors.
•Keeping all premises tidy and presentable, including classrooms, common areas and canteen.
•Supervise the students while on the premises and while on scheduled breaks, at designated
smoking areas, etc.
•Liaise with the School/Colleges IT departments re IT hardware and software.
•Liaise with the cleaning staff to ensure an appropriate level of service is provided.
•Available for any other work across the Group during scheduled school holidays and for the
occasional weekend project work.
•Respect the confidentiality of the company, the students and their parents.
•Cultivate professional and appropriate relationships with other members of staff.
•Maintain an appropriate standard of attendance, be punctual & having flexibility is extremely
important.
•Proactive in your approach and attention to detail is a must..
•Adhere to an appropriate standard of dress.
Hours of Work 37.5hrs a week
9am - 5.30pm
