Role Profile
The School of Computing in DCU is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Administrator to support its IT infrastructure and service delivery. Reporting to the Head of School, this is an important IT role and is critical to the effective delivery of the School’s strategic goals across all activities, including teaching, research, and industry engagement.
The successful candidate will play a leadership role as part of the School’s IT team, directing and mentoring other team members as well as undertaking substantial aspects of the work themselves, often on their own initiative.
Current IT Infrastructure
* DHCP server (ISC DHCP), DNS server, LDAP (OpenLDAP)
* Around 15 Linux servers and a fleet of around 450 Linux desktops
* SSH compute servers and gateways
* NFS, ansible, docker, traefik, apache, nginx, GitLab, Moodle
* In-house educational platforms (mostly nodejs/apache, Javascript, shell, and python)

Essential Training
The postholder will be required to undertake the following essential compliance training: Orientation, Health & Safety, Data Protection (GDPR), and all Cyber Security Awareness Training. Other training may need to be undertaken when required.
Salary Scale
Analyst Programmer III Scale - €66,467 - €106,806 refer to DCU Payscales for the applicable payscale.
Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.

Pilot Remote Working Policy
DCU is currently operating a pilot remote working policy for staff which consists of 1 day a week and 2 days a week for a period of up to 21 weeks per year. Such weeks are determined by the Head of each Unit in conjunction with HR and will take cognisance of the academic calendar, business needs, and the service provision of the particular area. The terms of the pilot remote working policy will apply.
