Lead Litigation Solicitor
A senior Litigation Solicitor role is available at a large National law firm based in Belfast. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical leadership skills and lead a small client-focused team of lawyers.
The successful candidate will handle a caseload of predominantly High Court cases, have direct responsibility for a small team of handlers and assistants, and be responsible for the technical quality of the work produced by their team. They will also oversee and lead the firm's Fraud Team, growing its capabilities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and driving business development efforts.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical excellence, leadership, motivation, engagement, and technical development of the team. They will interface with sophisticated claims handlers, enhance the firm's profile, and attract more work to grow and develop their team.
The Lead Lawyer will ensure robust strategies are employed across all counter-fraud matters, provide peer review, training, and supervision, and feed back outcomes to partners and key client contacts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Excellence: Devising and implementing case strategies that deliver the best possible outcome for clients, considering evidence throughout the life of the case, and identifying and escalating complex cases as needed.
Technical Excellence: Supervising and peer reviewing team members, making full use of the firm's Case Management System, triaging and allocating new files, and ensuring compliance with the Law Society of Northern Ireland code of conduct.
Client Excellence: Building partnerships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance with SLAs, accurate and timely completion of MI, and achieving client and internal KPIs.
Leadership: Leading, motivating, engaging, and technically developing the team, addressing issues around wellbeing or performance, and contributing to recruitment and probation processes.
