The Process Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in decarbonisation efforts, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of processes to eliminate fossil fuel use in manufacturing operations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that align with clients sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Lead and manage projects aimed at decarbonising manufacturing processes, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
2. Process Design and Optimization: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, including the integration of renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and biogas systems.
3. Technical Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of current processes to identify opportunities for energy savings and emissions reductions.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and sustainability teams to ensure alignment with overall decarbonisation objectives.
5. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations and Diageo’s safety standards.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of project plans, progress, and performance metrics; prepare reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on sustainability and decarbonisation projects preferred.
3. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, energy efficiency methodologies, and carbon reduction strategies.
4. Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
5. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with experience presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
7. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
