Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Principal Ecologist who will work as an integral member of our team in Cork, Dublin, or Carlow, aiding business expansion and working closely with fellow professionals.
This role is suitable for candidates with a minimum of 10 years of experience. The position offers exposure to various areas within the renewable energy, waste management, and civil infrastructure sectors, as we have a broad spectrum of ongoing projects and can offer the successful candidate a clear path for career development.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services
* Providing expert ecological input for various projects
* Planning, conducting, and supervising site ecological surveys and fieldwork
* Preparing and monitoring Construction Environmental Management Plans
* Undertaking Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements
* Writing technical reports and other deliverables
* Providing expert witness at Oral Hearings
Requirements
* A degree in ecology or a related subject
* A minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy
* Membership in CIEEM, CIWEM, or an equivalent professional body
* Experience in the oral hearing process and the role of expert witness
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation in Ireland
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Experience in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans
