Contract Harper Finley have partnered with an established, primary contractor based in Ireland who specialise in the construction and fit out of new power stations across Ireland and mainland Europe.
They are seeking to hire an experienced Electrical Works Superintendent, to join their team in Athlone.
This person will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all electrical erection works on site.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage direct employees and subcontractors adherence to the plans and specifications of project plans including the Health and Safety Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately Provides senior leadership for environmental, safety, health, injury/accident and fire prevention on the project Ensure the applicable design document for electrical commodities are provided to direct hire craft personnel to complete work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned electrical work activities or applicable project specific policies and procedures Work with Project Controls personnel to understand and produce 30, 60, 90 day look ahead schedule of future activities that will complete the project on time Advise site manager and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, Assist in resolving such problems as required Evaluate contractor performance With the involvement of site engineers, planning & reporting engineers develop and maintain a plan and schedule of work based on the project master plan Oversight and coordination of subcontractor activities Work closely with other discipline superintendents and coordinate efforts and activities to meet the overall project requirements
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering 10 years of Electrical Engineering Field experience, and - 5 years experience in a similar role In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process, including building codes, blue prints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.
Strong communication, organizational, leadership and time management skills Must have comprehensive understanding of safety regulations High organization skills and ability to prioritize.
