The Head of Execution and Strategy for Ireland will be part of the Ireland management team & will primarily be responsible for supporting the Ireland Country Director to proactively ensure efficient execution of strategy across all functional stakeholders. They will facilitate the coordination and execution of the management team and core related functions and play a key role in supporting commercial growth plus major regulatory, policy efforts, ensuring that Coinbase operates in full compliance with local regulator requirements.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, yet assertive, detailed oriented leader who will leverage their experience to successfully develop the CB Ireland region. This role will work under the general supervision of the CB Ireland Country Director.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
7. Partner with the CB Ireland Country Director to agree the strategy for Ireland
8. Oversee the efficient measurement and execution of the strategy for Ireland
9. Partner with operations head to develop Coinbase Ireland’s Business Resilience and new product review
10. Continually assess and develop the firm’s governance frameworks
11. Work closely with Legal, Compliance and Risk on major regulatory/policy efforts
12. Drive more efficient execution across EMEA e-money and crypto operations
13. Provide cross-border/pan European support
14. Develop meaningful and insightful MIS to support day-to-day oversight and data driven decision making
15. Scan for current trends, competitors and developments in the market to identify new or emerging risks and opportunities.
16. Establish strong working global relationships with Product, Engineering, Business Operations and Design counterparts to support products growth in EMEA
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
17. Proven experience as a head of function or similar, preferably in regulated institutions.
18. Good understanding of how the various functions of a regulated financial services business operate ( Compliance, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Audit, Outsourcing)
19. Solid understanding of the Ireland and European regulated payment and financial services landscape, particularly with respect to fintech, and past experience in engaging with regulators and managing operations that are subject to regulatory oversight
20. Great verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in remote-first organization
21. Ability to structure complex and ambiguous strategy problems
22. Comfortable interacting with stakeholders and from all levels in the organization and th board of directors
23. Analytical ability to derive meaningful insights for decision making in a data driven environment
24. Keen interest in crypto/blockchain (expertise not a prerequisite but willingness to learn essential)
25. Self-starter who is excited at the prospect of growing a business in a fast developing sector
26. Pragmatic and solutions-oriented - always looking for more efficient and effective ways to do things.
Nice to haves:
27. Previous experience working in a multinational / US-headquartered business
28. Experience with retail-oriented payments, trading, or brokerage platforms
29. Previous work experience or personal interest in crypto/blockchain space
