About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Energy and Sustainability Engineer to lead, manage, design, and evaluate energy-related projects and programs aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing costs. You will play a pivotal role in the design, construction, or remodeling phases of projects, ensuring sustainable practices are at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Project Management:
o Lead and manage the Energy & Sustainability Engineering aspects for all projects.
o Ensure project performance and profitability while maintaining exceptional client care.
o Mentor and develop junior engineers.
* Energy Modeling & Analysis:
o Coordinate dynamic thermal modeling (IESVE) for Part L Assessments, Comfort Analysis (TM52/59), natural ventilation studies, and daylighting.
o Lead residential Part L assessments using accredited SAP software as part of large-scale energy strategies.
* Sustainability Strategy & Reporting:
o Undertake and oversee studies for BREEAM credits, including thermal comfort, low/zero carbon technologies, emissions reduction, operational energy predictions, and daylighting.
o Prepare Energy & Sustainability Statements to complement planning submissions, managing contributions from various design team stakeholders.
o Create high-quality reports and sustainability strategies, communicating key insights effectively.
* Certifications & Audits:
o Conduct domestic and/or non-domestic EPCs for new and existing buildings.
o Manage and audit subcontractors and their information.
* Innovation & Change:
o Lead change initiatives involving new systems and technologies.
o Support bids for new opportunities, contributing to marketing material and representing the company in interviews.
* Client Engagement & Collaboration:
o Attend client meetings, surveys, and training as required.
o Collaborate with other offices to maintain a unified approach.
About You:
* Proven experience in energy and sustainability engineering.
* Strong expertise in thermal modeling, SAP software, and sustainability reporting.
* Experience in mentoring and leading teams.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present high-quality reports.
* Flexibility to travel for client meetings and project needs.
