Our client is Ireland's largest open-access network provider, operating the largest alternative wholesale telecoms network in Ireland.
Your Role: Network Systems Administrator
You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of internal network infrastructure across the group. A key part of your role will be to support and develop the groups Network Management Systems, Operational Support Systems, and Performance Management systems.
Working Arrangements
We operate a hybrid working model, with two days per week in our Limerick or Dublin office (Tuesday and Wednesday). This role reports to the IT Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate network infrastructure across the Groups various sites, including offices, data centers, and co-locations
* Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade the Groups internal Network Management Systems, Performance Management Systems, and Operation Support Systems
* Provide operational support to internal users relating to network and NMS responsibilities
* Research, Develop, Design, and Architect systems and networks
* Manage purchasing and acquisitions
* Support and administer third-party applications
* Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
* Monitor System and Network availability, performance, and capacity
* Review and remediate security vulnerabilities across related systems and networks
* Assist the I.T. Team Lead and Head Of I.T. with network policies and procedures
* Work with other members of the I.T. Department to provide network infrastructure for related projects
Key Skills / Qualifications:
* Previous System Administration experience and Network Engineering or NOC experience, preferably within the telecommunications industry
* BSc. Computer Science/relevant technical accreditations (MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, etc.) or relevant professional experience
* Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar role
* Experience administering corporate networks including switching, routing, and Wi-Fi
* Experience administering Network Management Systems in an ISP or Telco setting is essential. This can include, but is not limited to, platforms such as Nokia NSP/5620 SAM, CA/Broadcom DX NetOps/Spectrum/Performance Manager/Unified Infrastructure Manager, Ceragon Netmaster, PRTG, Solarwinds or similar
* Previous experience administering and architecting virtualized server and storage platforms
* Previous experience administering microarchitecture
* Extensive knowledge of various network protocols such as RADIUS, SNMP, BGP, VPN, Ethernet etc.
