Job Summary:As a Senior Auto Electrician, you will oversee the electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of various vehicles and equipment, commercial vehicles, and specialised fleet vehicles. Your expertise will support the safe and efficient operation of vehicles by troubleshooting complex electrical issues, installing new electronic components, and ensuring all electrical work aligns with safety standards and best practices.
Pay and Benefits:Salary €55-65K Depending on experienceCompany Van (BIK will be payable)On-site parkingUniform providedTool Purchase SchemeDiscounted Gym MembershipMental Health and Wellbeing SchemeKey Responsibilities:Repair and vehicle fitoutDiagnose and repair electrical faults in heavy vehicles, and standard fleet vehicles, addressing issues in a timely and efficient manner.Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to identify faults in vehicle electrical systems.Electrical System Installation and MaintenanceInstall, inspect, and repair wiring, control systems, and electrical components on both new and existing vehicles.Install and configure electronic systems, such as GPS, sensors, Reverse Cameras, beacons, inverters and other telematics.Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance the lifespan of vehicles.Leadership and SupervisionProvide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior auto electricians and apprentices, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.Lead the electrical maintenance team in complex repairs and installations, offering hands-on support and technical expertise.Conduct performance assessments and assist in workforce planning to maintain high productivity within the team.Compliance and SafetyEnsure all work complies with local and national safety regulations and company safety policies.Conduct thorough checks to ensure all repairs and installations are correctly done, adhering to quality standards.Maintain documentation of all repairs, diagnostics, and installations for auditing and future reference.Inventory and Tool ManagementAssist in managing the electrical maintenance inventory, ensuring availability of parts, tools, and materials.Recommend new tools or software that could improve diagnostics and repair times, keeping the team updated with the latest technology.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in automotive electrical systems, with significant experience in diagnostics, repair, and installations on a variety of vehicles.Certification: Possession of relevant licenses and certifications, such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in Electrical/Electronic Systems or equivalent, is preferred.Full driving licenseSkills and Competencies:Technical Expertise: Proficiency in automotive electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and control systems.Diagnostic Skills: Advanced knowledge in diagnosing complex electrical faults and using diagnostic software/tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address and resolve issues efficiently.Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to relay complex information to team members and provide clear instructions.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in diagnostics, repairs, and documentation to maintain quality and safety.Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of junior electricians and apprentices.Willingness to work in various environments, including workshops, garages, and sometimes on-site at different locations.May require working outside standard hours or responding to emergency repairs, as needed.This job will be a mix of on the road and onsite.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment, work in tight spaces, and spend extended periods on feet.Must adhere to safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
