Title and Summary
The MasterCard Services global technology team is seeking a Vice President as the technical co-founder of the Market Intelligence program. This role will work with vendors, technical program managers, and product partners to define and execute a technology strategy for the program that enables business growth, enhances customer experience, and ensures the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Leadership
o Bears ultimate accountability for application quality and developer productivity.
o Shares accountability for product success and program financials; ensures budgets are managed to investment value.
o Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and cost optimization for engineering operations.
o Co-creates value proposition to address customer need and establishes “North Star” of program.
o Define and execute a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with business priorities and drives long-term growth.
o Define and measure engineering KPIs, ensuring optimal system performance and stability.
2. Software Development Responsibilities
o Provides and drives adoption of corporate leadership, vision, and direction for Platform technology stack.
o Apply the business strategy and drive the technology strategy balancing short term and long term needs to ensure performance and scaling objectives are achieved.
o Work closely with business partners on product definition, product roadmaps, business case development, and overall direction.
o Source, evaluate, and manage appropriate vendors on the build and run of products in line with the full scope of program objectives.
o Major contributor to technical discussions and provides valuable insight and guidance on technology approach and process.
o Ensure development meets compliance, regulatory, and industry security standards.
o Drive scalability, security, and performance across all software solutions and platforms.
o Drive AI, ML, and data-driven innovation to improve decision-making and customer experience.
o Coordinate development needs with product and services teams across the organization.
o Manage operational and business concerns relative to future business programs, projects, or enhancements to ensure consistent delivery of quality services.
3. People & Collaboration
o Lead and mentor global team members, ensuring the development of robust, high-quality, and scalable software.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
o Attract, hire, and develop world-class engineering talent.
Qualifications:
1. 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership, with a strong track record of building scalable and innovative solutions.
2. Expertise in content management systems, microservices, AI/ML, and software solutions delivery. Familiarity with Salesforce, Identity and access management systems, and Ecommerce applications preferred.
3. Proven ability to lead global engineering teams and deliver large-scale, mission-critical applications.
4. Ability to translate highly complex technical matters into easily digestible and actionable plans.
5. Proven experience delivering scalable complex platforms by leveraging vendor resources and solutions.
6. Strong experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and software automation frameworks.
7. Deep understanding of security, compliance, and risk management in technology.
8. Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills; experience preparing and delivering executive level presentations to business and technology audiences.
9. Demonstrates the ability to lead and manage senior technical individual contributors and management staff with the ability to foster open communications across various organizational levels.
10. Demonstrates success in driving cultural transformation and fostering engineering excellence.
11. Budget and financial management experience.
12. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
