The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineering Team Lead to join our expanding team at our new Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, Ireland. As a Controls Engineering Team Lead, you will be primarily responsible for managing a team of engineers to support sourcing, qualification, production support, and maintenance of Automated Manufacturing Equipment and their underlying control systems.
Responsibilities
* Manages a team of controls, systems and vision engineers
* Provides technical leadership on all controls engineering topics
* Supports in-production Automated Manufacturing Equipment
* Troubleshoots and solves problems with processes and hardware
* Plans preventive maintenance of controls systems
* Coordinates with others in order to investigate problems and implement solutions
* Provides technical assistance as needed by internal customers
* Manages relations with vendors
* Defines performance metrics
* Supports qualification and validation activities
* Ledd projects to specify and implement new processes and process improvements
Requirements
* Level 7 NFQ qualification in Automation, Mechatronics, Computer science, Electrical engineering, Electronic engineering or equivalent experience
* 6+ years of experience in a similar position
* Experience managing teams and projects
* Experience with Allen Bradley Controllogix PLCs and Siemens TIA portal
* Experience with developing users and system requirements specifications
* Experience in controls system development and deployment
* Experience in software testing, verification, and validation
* Experience with supporting manufacturing systems
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Experience with controlling and implementing software changes
* Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate information from varied disciplines and work within a highly regulated environment
