Job Title: Consultant Plastic Surgeon with Special Interest in Back and Spinal Reconstruction
This is a newly funded post that will join the current team of plastic surgeons in Crumlin and Temple Street. There is a specific need for consultant plastic surgical support for spina bifida and complex spinal surgery at CHI.
The successful candidate must be registered as a specialist in the relevant specialty on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland, within 180 days of the day of interview and before taking up appointment.
The role requires regular attendance at multidisciplinary team meetings and joint assessments of patients, as well as attendance in the operating theatre.
The surgeon providing this service would also be expected to have a commitment to an area of subspecialty within paediatric plastic surgery.
This post is required in order to support the demand for general elective and emergency plastic surgery interventions as well as the need to reduce outpatient waiting lists.
Requirements
* Registration in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Plastic Surgery.
* Two years certified postgraduate training in Plastic Surgery.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Plastic Surgery Fellowship
* Significant experience in clinical practice in delivery of acute unscheduled care at both local and national levels.
* Training in providing soft tissue reconstruction for patients with spine related diseases.
* Excellent inter-personal skills, including experience and familiarity with public, professional, media and political communications and stakeholder relations.
Salary: Estimated salary range €120,000 - €180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
