Role Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Surveyor to join our expanding team. In this role, you will conduct in-depth inspections, prepare detailed reports, and provide expert advice on structural integrity and potential risks. You will also contribute to maintaining our company’s high standards of service delivery and collaborate with other professionals to ensure smooth property transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General duties related to Building Surveying.
2. Conduct property surveys, including detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties.
3. Produce comprehensive reports on structural integrity, identifying defects, and recommending repairs.
4. Handle planning and retention permission applications.
5. Provide professional advice to clients regarding survey findings and associated risks.
6. Conduct BER (Building Energy Rating) surveys, issuing energy performance certificates and advising on energy-saving improvements.
7. Issue Certificates of Identity and provide Opinions of Compliance concerning planning and building regulations.
8. Stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
9. Collaborate with estate agents, solicitors, architects, and other professionals involved in property transactions.
10. Contribute to marketing initiatives to support business growth.
11. Undertake additional duties as required by Property Health Check.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Building Surveyor with a minimum degree in Building Surveying (NFQ Level 8) or a related qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Registered Building Surveyor or actively working towards registration.
3. Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction standards, and energy efficiency assessments (BER).
4. Proficiency in report preparation and BER rating software.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Full clean driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
