In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of all services by the ILIM Data Quality, Pricing Team and External Manager teams in an efficient and controlled manner.
You will have the opportunity to work with the management team in Securities Servicing to input and contribute to the development of the area.
You will report to the Senior Manager Investment Services.
Team BackgroundThe Data Quality, Pricing and External Manager Teams together with the Reconciliation Team make up ILIM Investment Services within ILIM BTS.
The Data Quality Team has responsibility for monitoring external data feeds into ILIM and the setup and maintenance of static data on our systems.
The Pricing Team has responsibility for the accurate and timely daily publication of our fund prices.
The External Manager Team has responsibility for operational due diligence on externally managed funds.
The role has 8 direct reports.
What you will help us to achieveUnderstanding and interrogation of ILIM databases to solve current issues and identify potential problems.Review and sign-off on daily fund prices within expected standards of timeliness and accuracy.Working and meeting with the local Actuarial teams on a monthly basis.Onboarding activities, including new externally managed funds, asset transfers, new product launches and new data feeds.Driving the ongoing development of our system capabilities and streamlining of existing operational processes.People management including setting annual objectives, performance appraisals, career pathways discussions and regular team meetings.Keeping abreast of regulatory, market and industry developments and assessing the implications for the team's activities.Ensuring appropriate controls are in place and adhered to, to mitigate the operational risks inherent with activities carried out by the team.Root cause analysis of errors and near misses and implementation of remedial actions and controls.Managing the relationship with our internal and external customers in particular our BTS teams, Fund Management, local Actuarial teams and external clients.Managing the relationship with key external service providers including data vendors, system vendors and auditors.What you will need to be successful in the roleManaging a team responsible for daily monitoring and updating of our data feeds including security prices, benchmarks and currency data and the daily price publication of all our funds.The setup and maintenance of all static data (such as securities and funds) set up on ILIM systems.Previous Team Lead or Management experience.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong understanding of securities and investment markets and an understanding of the regulatory framework within which they operate.Strong understanding of data flow and fund pricing.Good understanding of ILIM's business with a blend of technical ability, judgement, and a strong work ethic with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong organisational, planning and communication skills with an ability to build and maintain good working relationships.Ability to prioritise key tasks and see them through to completion.Questioning attitude and an ability to recognise and resolve problems as they arise, and to know where to escalate when necessary.Desire to challenge and improve practices and processes as required.Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work well within a team environment.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.A 3rd level qualification (preferably Finance related).About us Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM), an investment firm authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland, has been part of the Great West Lifeco group of companies since 2013.
