The Role
We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated R&D Analytical Lab Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Analytical Laboratory, you will be responsible for transferring and implementing testing of incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for new manufacturing lines in Cork.
Duties:
* Laboratory Safety: Adhere to all company EHS guidelines and procedures with proactive involvement in laboratory safety initiatives.
* Complex Problem Solving: Leverage specialized knowledge and analytical skills to solve complex problems.
* Reporting and Validation: Report activities & results. Draft and execute validation protocols for new test methods & issue quality reports.
* Testing and Quality Assurance: Test incoming raw material, in-process and finished product in strict accordance with procedures to support production and shipping deadlines.
* Change Control and Coordination: Raise and coordinate change controls for the introduction of new analytical test methods and equipment.
* Laboratory Equipment Management: Source, purchase, and qualify new laboratory equipment.
* Risk Assessment: Carry out EHS and quality risk assessments of new test methods and equipment.
* Documentation and Communication: Draft and coordinate approval of new test method SOPs and related documentation.
* Project Management: Ensure coordination with project managers, technical lead, and management through good communication.
* Maintenance and Calibration: Correctly use and maintain various laboratory equipment.
* Quality Training: Train colleagues in the use of laboratory equipment and procedures in the Analytical Services laboratories.
* Validation and Non-Routine Testing: Perform laboratory validation and non-routine testing.
* Technical Support: Provide technical backup and support to production as required, including project work, e.g., non-routine lab testing to support process validations, quality improvement efforts, and customer complaints.
* Data Management: Archive laboratory data, logbooks, and samples in accordance with procedures.
* Inventory Control: Maintain laboratory inventory levels.
* Continuous Improvement: Participate in identified Continuous Improvement initiatives; cost, quality, etc.
Requirements:
* Educational Background: B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
* Organizational Skills: Highly organized; self-starter able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; adapt well to change and able to prioritize multiple projects.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Innovative problem solver with creative thinking skills for overcoming difficult experimental challenges.
* Communication Skills: Excellent experimental planning and data interpretation skills.
* Teamwork: Good communication skills.
