The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused, technical, and motivated individual to work in EirGrid’s Customers & Connections function to enhance the customer experience. Our customers are important to Ireland from many aspects including the achievement of our renewable targets, the continuation of sustainable economic growth, supporting security of supply, and the transition of the Irish power system.
As Customer Account Manager, you will provide high quality, technical customer support to customers connecting to and using the transmission system. This requires superior customer account management to ensure an effective and consistent end-to-end ‘Customer Journey’ for all EirGrid’s customers. You will enhance engagement with our customers and stakeholders, in line with EirGrid’s Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, to drive better outcomes for all.
We will look to you to demonstrate a high degree of collaboration, working with external customers and industry stakeholders and working with teams across EirGrid including planning, infrastructure delivery, operations, regulation, contracts, and support teams. The role involves driving out appropriate solutions to a wider range of complex technical and commercial issues while advocating on the customer’s behalf. In this context, building and maintaining strong professional relationships both externally and internally will be crucial. You will need the requisite people skills to influence others and to find workable solutions.
The Team
The Infrastructure office within EirGrid comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce. The Infrastructure Office is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes, in collaboration with partners, customers & communities.
The Customers & Connections function prepares and manages contracts for connection and use of the transmission system in Ireland and develops related connection policy as the industry evolves. The team also leads the close collaboration with industry customers and related stakeholders who are key for the achievement of renewable targets, the continuation of sustainable economic growth, supporting security of supply, and the transition of decarbonising the Irish power system. The team continually seeks opportunities to develop collaborative ways of working with industry to drive better outcomes for all.
About You
* Relevant degree typically with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience with experience working in a customer-facing environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to work collaboratively across business areas with a proven ability to influence others.
* Ability to quickly grasp technical and/or commercial concepts, and capable of articulating these concepts to non-technical audiences and industry leaders.
* Broad understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the power industry, including connecting customers and those using the transmission system.
* Proven experience of effective external stakeholder engagement and management in a complex environment and with an ability to drive successful outcomes.
* Strong ability to guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy. Experienced in resolving contentious disputes through mediation.
