About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Staff Grade (Grade II) Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Loughan House, Open Centre, Co Cavan.
About Loughan House:
Loughan House is an open, low-security prison for males with an operational capacity of 140 adult males aged 18 years.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Senior Psychologist and multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in treating individuals referred to the IPS Psychology Service for mental health difficulties and offence-specific needs.
* Provide evidence-based assessments and interventions, including formal offence-related risk assessments and preparation of Parole Board reports.
* Collaborate with community agencies involved in supporting and resettling individuals leaving custody, as well as families and carers.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs and provide regular input to psychologists-in-training.
About the IPS Psychology Service:
The IPS Psychology Service is a national, public psychological service that provides an integrated care model, accepting referrals for a broad range of mental health and criminogenic needs.
Requirements:
* Eligible for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI.
* Desirable requirements include experience working with forensic or inpatient populations, providing consultation and education to multidisciplinary colleagues, and further therapeutic or research qualifications.
