Part time Workshop and Events Activity Assistant
Main purpose: To support the lead Event Co-ordinator in preparation, organising, set up and clean up of seasonal events onsite and for outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and delivery with a team, in large scale public onsite events e.g. school tours, festivals.
2. Self led delivery of nature based activities for small scale events for children e.g. birthday parties, nature camps.
3. Supervision of children, provision and set up of activities. Training will be provided.
4. Monitoring and maintenance of craft room and poly tunnel supplies and cleanliness of activity space.
5. Team work in events: communicate and liaise with a diversity of clients e.g. teachers, parents, volunteers, Festina Lente in the delivery of a sustainable event.
6. Provide feedback from events to Events Team/ Manager through a continuous improvement evaluation process.
7. Participate in training relating to event activity design and delivery, working in diverse groups and health and safety.
Criteria:
The candidate will have the following:
1. Some experience of working with children and youth sector.
2. Keen interest in nature and working outdoors.
3. Quick on feet.
4. Excellent group work skills and confidence in working with children (with or without parent involvement).
5. Self led and ability to organize activities in a time-bound manner.
6. Capable of working independently and in groups.
7. Must demonstrate initiative and be able to use common sense.
8. A playful disposition and an understanding of children and teens.
9. Confident storyteller.
10. Flexible to work alternate days in weekends.
11. General IT skills for accessing rosters, email communication.

Conditions of employment:
Salary: The rate of pay will be €13.40 per hour.
Hours: As required, five hour shifts including weekend work.
Annual Leave: Annual Leave will be calculated on the basis of time worked, exclusive of public holidays.
Location of the position: Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Any change in location will be notified to you in advance.
