An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take full responsibility for managing the maintenance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The role involves overseeing both corrective and preventative maintenance, minimising equipment downtime, supporting process improvements, and ensuring the efficient performance of machinery and services in a safe and compliant manner.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the maintenance department, ensuring all plant equipment, buildings, and services are maintained to the highest standards.Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimise plant reliability and up time.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and statutory equipment certifications.Lead a team of maintenance fitters and electricians, providing technical support and fostering a culture of skill-sharing and continuous improvement.Coordinate maintenance staff scheduling, performance management, and training.Oversee spare parts stock control, sourcing cost-effective alternatives, and managing department budgets.Manage contractors and external service providers.Work closely with production teams to identify issues and implement effective solutions.Drive energy efficiency and cost reduction initiatives across plant operations.Implement world-class maintenance principles, including CMMS, predictive maintenance programs, and process optimisation.Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns, new processes, and capital expenditure projects.Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.Qualifications & Experience:Education: Engineering degree or equivalent.Experience: Strong background in a manufacturing environment in a maintenance role.Skills:Technical expertise across mechanical, industrial electrical, and automation systems.Experience in work scheduling, people management, spare parts sourcing, budgeting, and cost management.Ability to drive continuous improvement and lead a team effectively.Apply today, by sending your CV and I will contact you for a discussion.Contact Aine ODwyer on or email for a confidential chatPlease note: due to current time constraints and travel restrictions, only candidates located in Ireland with full rights to work will be considered for this position.
