Job Description
The Director of Nursing plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing staff and ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the nursing department's day-to-day operations.
* Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing training and support.
* Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations and company policies.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
* Monitor residents' health status and respond promptly to changes.
* Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of nursing staff.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Manage budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation.
* Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork and open communication.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Currently registered nurse with the NMBI.
* Minimum 6 years of nursing experience, at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of HIQA regulatory requirements.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Clinical audits: Regularly review clinical documentation.
