Job Description:
Cpl Foster Care is seeking an experienced Social Worker to work in a Team Leader capacity within our Fostering Assessment Service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team.
Cpl Foster Care provides a suite of ‘recruit-to-approval’ services to support our client’s recruitment and assessment of prospective Foster Carers. These services operate nationwide and include:
1. Dedicated bespoke Foster Care recruitment campaigns.
2. Managing the screening of applicants.
3. Carrying out a range of assessments.
4. Undertaking independent reviews of Foster Carers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Assessing Social Workers and review assessments, including General Assessments, S36, Supported Lodgings, and Reviews, including allocation of assessment and completing any paperwork pertaining to this function.
2. Complete assessments as required by service demand (the number of assessments shall be in line with your working hours, i.e., part-time one assessment at a time to full-time up to 3 assessments).
3. Provide fostering preparation training to foster care applicants in conjunction with the Separate Children Seeking International Protection team.
4. Review assessments prior to submission.
5. Meet with applicants prior to the end of assessment.
6. Attend Foster Care Committee alongside the assessor.
7. Attend any necessary meetings to fulfill the role as Team Leader, including commissioning meetings, internal governance meetings, and any other meetings deemed appropriate by the Service Manager.
8. Support/deputize for the Service Manager in their day-to-day duties or in their absence.
9. Deliver training to assessors.
10. Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures throughout all work and within the work of any assessing social worker, reporting any child protection concerns immediately to the Service Manager or persons identified within the management structure.
Requirements:
1. A recognised Social Work qualification with CORU registration.
2. A minimum of three years’ experience within a supervisory/management capacity.
3. An in-depth knowledge of fostering and child welfare.
4. Leadership and creativity in setting the strategic direction of the service.
5. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a complex practice and regulatory environment.
6. A commitment and drive to perform at the highest level.
This role will require 3 days per week, Wednesday to Friday, and offers remote/hybrid working opportunities, which will involve some travel.
Salary: A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience and will be commensurate with the senior level of the post.
