Head Butcher - Co. Galway
A skilled Head Butcher is required for a supermarket in Co. Galway who has a passion for butchery and can work on their initiative as part of a team.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
Manage the Meat Department, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively at all times. Provide customers with excellent quality products and services. Communicate any range changes, offers or new initiatives to the team.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 2 years experience in a Supervisor/Manager role, preferably in butchery.
- A strong background in Craft Butchery.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong numerical skills.
- Experience in managing gross profit and margins.
- Creative and able to think outside the box.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to engage with and prioritize customer needs.
- Strong attention to detail, organized and flexible.
- Able to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties include:
- Living the company's brand-values daily.
- Maintaining high-quality retail cuts according to customer needs.
- Driving sales through KPI reports, financial reports, brand initiatives, customer initiatives and employee knowledge.
- Adhering to weekly stocktaking procedures.
- Implementing planograms correctly and ensuring the correct range is in place in store.
- Attending and engaging in weekly management meetings, bringing learnings back to the team.
- Ensuring all staff reporting to you are competent in their duties and given adequate training relevant to their tasks.
- Enhancing product knowledge by gathering information from various sources and sharing ideas, suggestions, and best practices with employees and management.
- Merchandising and presenting the department to the highest standard at all times.
- Engaging with new initiatives and embracing new ways of working.
