Responsible for: Provision of Psychiatric Nursing Services in MQI Riverbank service.
Objective: To promote mental health recovery and enhance the quality of life for service users. To work as part of the team in delivering a quality mental health service for women living in homelessness.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a mental health nurse to be part of an established clinical team developing a unique service aimed at improving the lives and mental health of people experiencing homelessness and addiction. It is an opportunity to work alongside the wider Merchants Quay team, both clinical and non-clinical, and other professionals working within the sector to develop much-needed recovery-focused support programs for this vulnerable group of people in Irish society. This role does offer flexible working hours.
Main responsibilities:
* Work as part of the Merchants Quay Ireland team to develop and implement mental health services and programs for clients within this unique service.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized client, person-centered care programs.
* Act as an advocate for clients, providing information to empower them in decision-making, goal setting, and problem-solving to optimize their chance of recovery.
* Develop and implement a recovery-based program to support clients into long-term mental health recovery and out of homelessness (WRAP – Wellness, Recovery Action Plan).
* Participate in the development of protocols and guidelines, and the setting of professional nursing standards.
* Contribute to, implement, monitor, and review the development of risk assessments for clients.
* Have a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act as it applies to the role as well as an understanding of The National Drug Strategy.
* Provide education and information to clients and their families as required.
* Develop, in consultation with clients, flexible and achievable care plans which are person-centered and adhere to agreed guidelines.
* Onward referral for service users as required and relevant to their identified goals.
* Relevant administrative work such as maintaining up-to-date case notes and monthly reporting.

Qualifications:
* The candidate must be registered in the Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI).
* Understanding of the issues faced by clients living in homelessness with mental health and/or addiction issues.
* Experience of managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
Salary: Depending on relevant experience.
Days: Mon - Sunday.
Location: MQI Riverbank, 13/14 Merchants Quay, Dublin 8, DO8 KT61.
