Role Purpose:
The role aims to ensure that Heineken Ireland maintains best practices in health, safety, and environmental management. Reporting to the OPCO SHE Manager, the SHE Engineer will drive safety, health, and environmental obligations across the business, from Global OpCO representation to local cross-functional engagement. The SHE Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for the site, ensuring compliance with all SHE-related legislation, group policies, and standards. The SHE Engineer will build collaborative relationships across the site and within the Global SHE community, sharing best practices and learnings to help improve these functions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (Safety & Environment)
* Lead the Site Environmental Pillar and advance it towards global TPM standards.
* Serve as TPM Health & Safety Pillar Leader, driving key objectives.
* Proactively manage compliance with the EPA Industrial Emissions License (License to Operate) and safeguard against future concerns.
* Actively participate in the sustainability program (BABW), with responsibility for delivering agreed programs.
* Develop, drive, and manage the site environmental roadmap, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards as part of HeiQuest compliance.
* Manage ISO 14001:2015 compliance and continuously improve the EMS system.
* Serve as the primary host for compliance audits, including annual NSAI, EPA, etc.
* Act as the main point of contact on-site for statutory bodies such as the HSE, EPA, and third-party stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the SHE Manager and department heads to set priorities for the Environmental Program Plan and manage its execution, including generating required monthly status reports.
* Support specific SHE-driven projects at other facilities or cross-functional areas as needed.
* Contribute to the annual Capex Investment Plan at the planning stage, based on agreed Safety and Environmental priorities, and support the Capital Expenditure Plan.
* Ensure HEIQuest Compliance on-site for Environmental checklists and support H&S-related HEIQuest compliance.
* Actively participate in the Supply Chain Daily Control System and TPM activities.
* Manage compliance by monitoring and maintaining records, ensuring that all monitoring, sampling, and analysis are carried out per the IPC License and the specified schedule.
* Collect, evaluate, and report environmental data, including wastewater, surface water, air, noise, and generate annual EPA environmental reports for submission.
* Manage the Waste Management Program on-site and provide guidance for ISS facilities.
* Drive the completion of corrective actions identified through the internal and external auditing process (TPM, EMS, NSAI).
* Oversee the review and approval process for safety and environmental-related process changes.
* Manage the Pegasus legal register for SHE legal compliance and facilitate annual health check audits.
* Manage Safety & Environmental Training by liaising with training providers, organizing training sessions, and reporting training records in relevant systems to ensure compliance and fitness for purpose.
* Hold responsibility for First Aid training and provision on-site.
* Promote and ensure compliance with the Life Saving Commitments Program, ensuring these topics become embedded in ways of working.
* Coordinate the on-site Emergency Response Team (ERT).
* Investigate incidents and accidents as needed and implement necessary corrective actions.
* Manage the process of Accident, Incident & Near Miss reporting to closure through the 12 Rules system and deploy insights to improve safety and environmental processes.
* Ensure quarterly deployments of safety and environmental accident, incident, and near miss data.
* Support the Permit System and Contractor Portal on-site.
* Support the provision of PPE requirements for all business functions with ISS.

Knowledge and Experience:
* Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., health, safety, and environment) with at least 4 years of related experience.
* In-depth knowledge of Environmental Legislation and experience managing an IPC License, as well as dealing with the EPA, County Councils, and local authorities.
* Strong computer and analytical skills (Microsoft packages).
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
* Strong ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally, working independently and as part of a team.
