Job Description
The Commercial Accountant will be based in Dublin and will report directly to the Head of FP&A, Ornua Foods.
The ideal candidate would have strong commercial acumen and a good understanding of how P&L works, with a proven track record of supporting non-finance functions with insight and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Performance Management: Deliver monthly review of results along with insightful commentary on performance; Prepare periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly as appropriate) reporting on spend along with cause of change analysis vs Budget and forecast and review with budget owners; Periodic working capital & inventory reporting for Foods division.
* Budget and Forecasting: Support the annual budget process for Foods Division, delivering a clear, initiative-driven business plan and ensuring consistent approach across all Foods P&Ls in both assumptions and output; Act as conduit between central functions and Foods BUs to facilitate smooth delivery of relevant models and assumptions for budget and forecast; Support the Central Foods Functions in preparation of corporate budgets; Preparation of detailed quarterly forecasts throughout the year.
* Financial Planning and Analysis/Business Partnering: Support preparation of strategic financial plans for Foods Division; Provide ad-hoc support for Foods Division as and when required, including project-based financial analysis for Operations, Procurement, etc.; Support the delivery of our Innovation Pipeline through regular financial reporting and analysis on performance as well as potential future opportunities; Process design and continuous improvement of financial rigor across Foods division; Support where required on the Foods S&OP process.
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Excel highly desirable. Experience with Power BI and/or Copilot is an advantage but not mandatory.
* Experience in a business partnering role, working closely with non-Finance functions an advantage.
* Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commercially astute with well-developed analytical skills.
* Highly motivated and dynamic.
