Electronics Engineer
The role of an Electronic Engineer or Embedded Systems Engineer (Firmware & Hardware) is a new position within a rapidly growing company that specializes in human health diagnostics. This engineer will be responsible for supporting both research and development and operations-related activities, with a key focus on the development, manufacturing transfer, and market support of an embedded handheld medical device.
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-managing engineer with experience working in customer-focused commercial environments. The successful candidate will join a tight-knit team to develop and manage products for a growing customer base, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
A strong background in electronics and firmware engineering is essential, including experience with the integration of components such as sensors, microcontrollers, and PCB design. Experience with wireless technologies like Bluetooth is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement embedded devices from requirements stage to manufacture and commercialization.
* Plan, design, develop, and conduct tests on electronic and mechanical assemblies coming from third parties.
* Design, develop, code, test, and debug software.
* Provide post-production support and advise customer-facing colleagues.
* Work with production to optimize manufacture and identify alternative components as required.
* Modify designs as required to correct operation deficiencies or reduce production issues.
* Identify user errors and difficulties and provide expertise in the evaluation of root cause analyses in both product development and on-market product troubleshooting.
* Strong understanding of signal processing technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Software, or Mechatronic.
* At least 3 years of experience in electronics and firmware engineering.
* High degree of technical knowledge balanced with creative ability and hands-on approach.
* Hands-on experience in the development and troubleshooting of embedded devices.
* Programming experience.
* Ability to modify and update current firmware.
* Experience with Embedded Linux, iOS, Android.
* Experience working with third-party vendors, contractors, and collaborators.
* Good written and verbal communication.
