DGR are currently seeking a results-driven Heavy Building Material Supervisor on behalf of a well-established company in the building materials sector. This role is essential in managing purchasing, stock control, customer engagement, and sales coordination to ensure efficient operations within the heavy building materials department. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in inventory management, supplier relations, and customer service, with a background in the construction or building materials industry. Key Responsibilities: Oversee procurement and stock management of heavy building materials (HBM). Monitor stock levels, usage trends, and reorder materials as required. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating competitive pricing and ensuring timely deliveries. Conduct inventory checks and resolve stock discrepancies. Work with the accounts team to manage payments and process invoices correctly. Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, complaints, and product-related queries via phone and email. Process customer orders and quotations, ensuring timely fulfillment and accurate documentation. Work closely with sales representatives to coordinate new orders, delivery schedules, and customer requests. Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues if needed. Manage a small ledger of accounts, ensuring accurate payments and up-to-date financial records. Assist the finance team in resolving billing discrepancies and overdue accounts. Provide administrative support to senior management, including preparing reports and maintaining records. Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules to ensure efficient dispatch of materials. Maintain accuracy in the stock control system, updating data as needed. Key Requirements Previous supervisory or management experience in the heavy building materials or construction industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock control. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, sales teams, and internal departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with account management software and financial reporting. Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building materials or construction supply, ideally in a supervisory role.
