Senior Quantity Surveyor Role
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the administration of contracts, risk management, and negotiations to deliver agreed profitability and cash projections. This includes upward and downward reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the commercial team and wider project team to successfully deliver the works.
* Communicate, negotiate, and procure sub-contractors and supply chain.
* Advise the project team on contractual issues.
* Evaluate commercial compliance with current contract conditions, protecting the company's position.
* Report upwards and downwards to senior management and the wider project team on contract progress.
* Price variations, compensation events, manage contractual notifications, and provide tender support.
* Control and manage costs and risks.
* Provide accurate monthly project cost and performance reports to the Commercial and Contract Managers.
* Prepare monthly financial statements detailing anticipated Final Accounts, including variation status (budget, submitted, agreed), in conjunction with project management.
* Assist with monthly work-in-progress reports in conjunction with the project manager.
* Manage delegated resources (e.g., budgets, equipment, and contracts) to ensure value for money.
* Maintain awareness and compliance with Farrans policies and procedures relevant to your role and corporate policies, including equality, sustainability, health and safety, and data protection.

Your Required Skills and Experience:
* At least 8-10 years' experience in construction commercial management, preferably on major projects.
* Ideal experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (2-3 years). Although not essential.
* Experience administering NEC form of contract.
* Degree or demonstrable suitable commercial management experience.
* Strong understanding of modern Civil Engineering techniques, plant, and equipment, and appreciation of logistical needs/issues.
* Awareness of cost impact in completing programs and development of construction solutions.
* Experience managing teams under tight deadlines.
* Strong IT skills.
* Full Manual UK driving license essential.
